Driven by memorable characters and loaded with stomach churning tension, Cold Blooded is intense, harrowing and all kinds of brilliant – one of the year’s best thrillers just waiting to be discovered.
After a botched diamond robbery in downtown Toronto, career burglar Cordero (Ryan Robbins; Apollo 18) finds himself chained to a bed in an empty hospital wing, guarded by Frances Jane, a rule abiding female police officer (Zoie Palmer; Devil). At first the film seems to be playing out like a fairly conventional interrogation picture: Jane attempts to extract a confession from her prisoner while Cordero tries to talk his way out. But when Cordero’s partners show up looking for the diamonds, things suddenly turn in a very different direction.
